Friends, Colleagues, and Stakeholders:
Before we head into the long weekend, I wanted to send a reminder that you are invited to a forum on Tuesday, January 22 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Landmark Center in Saint Paul!
This forum is an opportunity to learn about a new bill, the Veterans Restorative Justice Act, being introduced to the legislature this session. The objective of this bill is to further the effectiveness and outreach of Veterans Treatment Courts as well as creating a structure that can be used by any Judge in the State of Minnesota, whether the county has a veterans court, or not.
There will be a short panel discussion after the social hour featuring Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman as the moderator. We will also be joined by Washington County Attorney Pete Orput, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi, Veterans Defense Project President Brock Hunter, State Chief Public Defender Bill Ward, Jenna Moll from the US Justice Action Network, as well as a number of graduates from Minnesota Veterans Treatment Courts.
There are plenty of parking options available within 3-blocks of the Landmark Center: the Landmark Towers Ramp, RiverCentre Ramp, Lawson Ramp, Victory Ramp, and metered parking on the street. Complete parking options may be found here:https://www.stpaul.gov/parking-saint-paul.
Please contact info@veteransdefenseproject.org with any questions and to RSVP. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening!
Respectfully,
Donn Lindstrom
Executive Director
