Welcome home, heroes. Welcome home.
A Minnesota parade honoring veterans and their families as a community.
Announcing the Twin Cities Heroes Parade!
Saturday July 28th, 11am-1pm – Nicollet Mall
MINNEAPOLIS – Veterans who served post-9/11 will be honored at the Twin Cities Heroes Parade on Nicollet Mall in appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
Inspired by the first grassroots parade held in St. Louis, and in partnership with the non-profit organization, the Welcome Home Foundation, Minneapolis will become one of the few cities in the United States to hold an event honoring post-9/11 veterans. The theme is “United in Thanks,” highlighting the importance of a community unified in gratitude.
The parade will begin on Fifth Street and finish on Eleventh Street. During the parade, there will be a “Resources Plaza,” located at Peavey Plaza. That weekend, Twin Cities businesses and restaurants will feature specials for veterans as part of “Heroes Weekend”. Participating businesses and restaurants will be listed on the event’s website. Funds raised beyond the need of the parade will be given to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Welcome Home Foundation.
Is with the support and participation of our community that we give these men and women and their families the thanks they deserve.
