• Reports from: Chairman, Ralph Donais –Thanked everyone for attending – Vice Chairman, Jerry Kyser : Wants 360 more chaperones for Honor flight. Award for Rep. Severson with a short speech from Rep. Severson. Honor Flight went well. Thanks to everyone for the support. Next flight is Oct. 23, 2010.

MN Dept of Veteran Affairs – Dept. Commissioner – Mike Pugliese: Absent.

Amy Rudolph: Gave an update on the cemetaries and update on building etc at the vets homes.

MN Veterans 2009 Legislative Info – Information Officer – Anna Long – Absent.

MN Military Affairs – Col. Ahlness : He reported on homecomings. 115 Field Artilliary this Friday. Several others happening in the fall. Also talked about Camp Ripley. Also had some discussion on tricare.

MN Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) – Nathanial Salz spoke about upcoming events. Also handed out handouts for the events

MN Veterans Initiatives Center and Research Institute (VICTRI) – Absent
Bryan McDonough Military Heroes Foundation: Tom McDonough: Gave history on Foundation. Have taken on Fisher House in MPLS for their fundraising cause.

VISN 23 – Barry Bahl : Gave an overview of updates in VISN 23 and gave a handout.

VA Regional Office – Peter Panos – They are going on with the move.

Mpls VA Medical Center – Mike Rosecrans, Director: Gave a review of ongoing activities.

St. Cloud VA Medical Center – Cheryl Kittelson – Reviewed ongoing activities. New VISN 23 director will be Janet Murphy.

New Brighton Vets Center : Absent –

3. Federal Congressional Senators and Representatives

Senator Amy Klobuchar – Absent.

Senator Al Franken – Nate Arch: Absent .

1st District Representative – Tim Walz – Shawn Schloesser: Absent.

2nd District Representative – John Kline – Chaz Johnson: Gave report on Rep. Kline’s activities. Reported on the job fair at Inver Hills Community College.

3rd District Representative – Erik Paulsen – John-Paul Yates: Absent.

4th District Representative – Betty McCollum – Connie Haddeland: Absent.

5th District Representative – Keith Ellison – Mike Siebenaler: Gave brief overview of legislation. Also gave out several handouts.

6th District Representative – Michelle Bachmann – Nicole Severson: Gave a report on Veterans History Project.

7th District Representative – Collin Peterson – Al Loehr: Gave report on Legislation. Gave report on Arlington Cemetery markers.

8th District Representative – James Oberstar – Joe Ellickson: Gave brief report on activities.

4. Announcements – Gov small business symposium coming up Aug 31 also 4yr no interest loans available. Ralph gave report on service center needing volunteers. Jerry K. spoke about veterans court.

Treasurer’s report-given: starting balance – 4,787.98; deposits – $100.00; expenses
– $124.53; ending balance – $4,763.45. Gave membership listing of who had not paid dues. MC.
