Governor Tim Pawlenty was honored with a certificate of appreciation from the United Veterans Legislative Council (UVLC) on the 6th of December, 2006. Jerry Kyser, the UVLC’s chairman, presented the Governor with the award at the December monthly meeting; the Governor received a standing ovation.
Credited as being the first Governor in Minnesota’s recent history to have provided Governor’s initiatives to the legislature on behalf of military and veterans, Governor Pawlenty humbly accepted the award.
The Governor announced to the press and the more than 60 people in attendance at the gathering that Veterans are going to be his number one priority this legislative session.
