According to VA News, the agency completed over 2 million claims during fiscal year 2025—a record-breaking milestone driven by increased staffing, digital modernization, and continued efforts to reduce the backlog.

Officials say the surge in claims stems from new presumptive conditions, expanded benefits under the PACT Act, and outreach encouraging veterans to file.
